Iran domestic box office makes historic record

Iran domestic box office has registered a new record at the ticket window in the history of Iranian cinema, a report says.

According to a press release quoting Public Relations Department of the Iran cinema organization, Iranian films at the box office raked in 1700 billion rials from February 20 year-on-year.

The amount displays an 11-percent increase compared to the same period last year based on Persian calendar year ending March, 20, 2018.

The detailed report on the total gains of Iranian films as well as high-grossing titles at the domestic box will be released soon, the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs said.

This comes as two of the top five titles for this week at Iran box office include ‘Rabidity’ directed by Amir-Ahmad Ansari and 'The Human Comedy’ directed by Mohammad-Hadi Karimi, starring Farrokh Nemati.
